Mental Health

Mental health is important to me. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a focus on addictions from Purdue University. I originally wanted to grow up to be a drug and alcohol counselor, but that didn’t pan out the way I had planned it. Currently, I work in software as a team leader, but that doesn’t mean I cannot apply what I’ve learned to find ways to make mental health a number one priority for my team.


A part of mental health is sharing the uncomfortable and that’s what you’ll see here. Journaling has always been a staple in my life and sometimes sharing something with the world is hard but necessary. Most things make me uncomfortable to share them, but if someone find it and feels not so alone…well, I’ve accomplished something.

Some posts will be ramblings, over-shares, and some will be some new topic in the mental health world that I’ve learned. Do know this though, this section is not a self-help blog. These are just my life experiences and cool ideas I thought I’d share.


 
 

Do It Yourself

Hopefully, one day, this space will be filled with downloadables of how to make simple macrame pieces or maybe recipes. Really anything that you would normally find in a DIY blog. Until then, this is pure sarcasm and the mishaps of my life that I’ve turned into a DIY that you should never attempt, such as “5 Steps to F Up a $200 Balayage”.

 

 

The Soapbox

If you’re in the space, and you know personally, you know that I love a good rant. Sometimes you can’t get a single word out of me but if you say a specific set of words in the right order, oh man buckle up because you’re about to get an earful. Join me on my soapbox while I let loose and let you know how I really feel about that.
